Introductory:

The Garawa are the traditional owners of country in the southwest Gulf of Carpentaria: their country covers approximately 30,000 sq km. Garawa estates also include sea country in the southwest Gulf. On the Garawa ALT there is the community of Robinson River with approximately 150 people resident, and six outstations.
